Terms of Use
Last updated 18 October 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of https://unfinishedwoodfurniture.com (the "Site"). The Site is operated by X Enterprises, LLC, 18122 3rd Dr SE, Bothell, WA 98012 ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
What the Site is, and what it is not
The Site publishes general information about unfinished wood furniture, including how makers describe woods and materials, preparing, staining, and finishing in general terms, finishing safety, oily rags, and anchoring furniture. We are not a retailer, a brand, a maker, a woodworker, a testing laboratory, a government agency, a fire official, or a lawyer. We do not sell furniture, finishes, tools, or other products. The Site does not give prices, product picks, or step-by-step building, repair, stripping, or refinishing instructions.
Important finishing and furniture safety notice
Stains, finishes, solvents, and strippers can release vapors that can harm your health, and many are flammable. Rags, pads, and applicators used with some oil-based stains and finishes can heat up and catch fire on their own as they dry if they are piled, bunched, or thrown in the trash. Furniture with drawers, doors, or shelves can tip over and seriously injure or kill a child. Sanding and power tools can cause injury, and old paint can contain lead. You are responsible for reading and following every product label, for ventilation, for safely drying, storing, and disposing of rags and finishing waste as the label and your local fire officials direct, for anchoring furniture, and for supervising children. In an emergency, call 911.
General information only; no professional, legal, or safety advice
Content on the Site is for general information. It is not safety, fire, health, engineering, legal, regulatory, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for the product label, the maker's instructions, your local fire officials, or a qualified professional. We do not say that any product, finish, method, or piece of furniture is safe, stable, durable, food safe, or suitable for you or your home, or that it will give any result.
Finishes, solvents, and ventilation
Where the Site describes stains, finishes, and solvents, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), it does so as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and product labels describe them. Follow the label for ventilation, protective equipment, drying time, and storage. Terms such as "low-VOC," "zero-VOC," "water-based," "natural," or "food safe" on a product are the maker's descriptions, not ours, and we do not verify them.
Oily rags and fire
Where the Site describes how to dry, store, or dispose of rags and applicators, it repeats the guidance of a named fire or public agency for general information. Follow the product label and your local fire and waste officials, whose instructions control. We make no statement that any method prevents a fire.
Furniture tip-over and anchoring
Where the Site describes furniture tip-over, anchoring, or federal rules for clothing storage units, it does so as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) states them, for general information only. We do not say that any piece of furniture is stable, meets any standard, or will not tip, or that any anchor or kit is right for your furniture or wall. Follow the maker's instructions for anchoring, and anchor furniture whether or not it is finished.
Old paint and lead
The Site does not give instructions for stripping, sanding, or refinishing old painted furniture. Old paint can contain lead. If you work on an old painted piece, read EPA's lead guidance first.
Wood, materials, and labels
Wood species and terms such as "solid wood," "all wood," "hardwood," "plywood," "veneer," or "MDF" used about a product are the maker's or retailer's descriptions, not ours. We do not verify any maker's claims about materials, construction, finish readiness, or formaldehyde emissions. Where the Site describes federal labeling for composite wood products, it does so as EPA states it, and it does not say that any product is compliant.
Makers' instructions and labels
Furniture, finishes, tools, and anchoring kits are made and sold by third parties under their own terms. Their instructions, warnings, labels, and recall notices control over anything on the Site. We have not tested any product. We are not responsible for any third party's products, claims, instructions, or recalls.
Federal and state rules and agencies
Where the Site describes federal or state rules, agency guidance, or standards, it does so as the agency states it, for general information only. The Site does not reprint standards, does not say that any product meets or is certified to any rule or standard, and does not tell you what the law requires. Rules change, and other federal, state, local, and foreign laws may apply. If you make, import, sell, or finish furniture for others, read the current rules and get advice from a qualified professional.
Agencies, organizations, and sources
Government agencies named on the Site, including EPA, CPSC, the National Park Service, and state fire, health, and environmental agencies, are credited for their own guidance and definitions. None of them endorses the Site, and the Site's mention of a rule, standard, or source is not a statement that any product is approved, compliant, or safe.
The Site name
"Unfinished Wood Furniture" is the name of the Site. It is not a statement that any product is solid wood, unfinished, ready to finish, or of any material or quality, or that we sell furniture or any other product.
Brand names and trademarks
Brand, product, program, and organization names mentioned on the Site belong to their owners. We use them only to credit their own guidance. The Site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any brand or organization it mentions.
Affiliate links
Some links may be affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Any purchase is between you and the retailer, under the retailer's terms. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

The Site is for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13.

Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, ANY PURCHASE FROM A THIRD PARTY, OR THE SELECTION, ASSEMBLY, ANCHORING, FINISHING, OR USE OF ANY FURNITURE, FINISH, SOLVENT, TOOL, OR OTHER PRODUCT, OR THE HANDLING OR DISPOSAL OF RAGS OR FINISHING WASTE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.
Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
Dispute resolution; binding arbitration; class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully. Except for small-claims matters and claims for injunctive relief over intellectual property, any dispute about these Terms or the Site will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration will be King County, Washington, unless you and we agree otherwise. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to take part in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must proceed in court and not in arbitration.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the arbitration section, exclusive venue for permitted court actions is the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and you consent to jurisdiction there.
Assignment and change of operator
We may assign or transfer these Terms, and the Site, to a successor operator, including as part of a sale of the Site, without notice to you. After that, the successor operator takes our place under these Terms and may post its own terms. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised Terms.
Miscellaneous
These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
